My Experience with English this Year

English like a subject has always been present in my educational process and in most of everyone’s scholar experiance.

Now, in University, english it’s still present in program of study. This subject, in our times, can be cataloged as an essential part of professional formation.

My experience with English IV it has been very enriching, we practice a lot of speaking, that from my point of view it’s really important when we want to leave our fears behind and start the truly learning.

The blog session in English IV it has been very helpful because it`s a good space to practice the thing that in my opinion is my biggest flaw: Grammar. It`s hard for me trying to remember of grammar rules.  I always have a few or lots of errors in this area of English, generally I think I can make me understand with other people and understand what are they telling me too. But for me it’s pretty  difficult to formulate in a conscious way a phrase using correct grammar, most of the time a support my decisions on my instinct. Unfortunately there is not any magic recipe to improve my English, just practice can make my grammar better than now.

Today in my daily life I am not using much English, I don’t know if there was a time before where I used it more than now, but  today I don’t have many opportunities to speak English more than when I have to read some English paper to classes.
The only thing I can do it`s keep on practicing in class and out of it to keep improving my English and hopefully received my certificate.

My FAB 2014

I started this 2014 very nervously, because i would start my first year of college. It was a year of significant changes with a whole new world to discover.

2014 started very quiet, I spent the summer with my  family enjoying my last days in my hometown, Linares. Then it was time to move to Santiago, it was crazy, but it was a good experience.

Here in college I met interesting people and made good friends. Regarding my career, I am very satisfied, because I was afraid that when school started I did not like it, but that didn’t happen  and I'm very happy about that.

Well, also there were things that did not go as expected, like when I couldn't stay longer in my aunt’s floor and I was quite worried about finding a place to live. But everything went well and I am very happy where I am now. I’m near university and i really like peopple who are living in this house (three other college students and the owner).

After finishing classes I hope to enjoy with my college friends before returning to my house and spend the summer with my family, my other friends and my beautiful fat cat (MOMO I LOVE YOUUUU, I MISS YOU TOO <3)

While I started this year a little nervous about how these changes would be, I must say that everything has been pretty good, and so far 2014 has been a successful year. I hope this year ends as well as started and make the next one even better.

Penta Case

Penta case has been on everyone's lips lately, as his recent outbreak in the media has made available to all the  information of this  fraud. The information known so far it’s not much, because this is a confidential investigation, but still the revealed details put us on alert against malpractice and the influential people involved on it.

Investigation of Penta case tells us of a series of improper tax returns, reaching two million pesos. All this was done through an official SII (Intern tax service) worker who provided these services to various companies, including Penta bank and its affiliates.

What caused more commotion was that acording to  one of those people involved in the scam, prominent political figures have received large sums of money for their campaigns making them go through fees receipts.

Personally I'm not surprised that such practices occur less if we talk about the world of politics, because in my opinion those are circles filled of double standard. In fact I'm glad that this has came out, so people can see how things really happen in this country. So i think this would increase control of these kind of process, even to those who believe "blameless".

The series of my childhood

One of the things that let a mark on us, specially when we are little, are all the animated  TV shows that we saw some years ago. Theese TV series, from my point of view, represent the amazing and imaginative inner world of childrens. In this post i’m gonna tell you about two TV shows that i loved and i’m still loving.

Since i have memorie, i used to spent part of the afternoon watching my favourite TV show “Los Tigritos”  that was played on Chilevision Channel. This TV show transmited some of the most popular anime (japannese animation), that became in my favourite “genre” of animated TV shows, untill now.

The first one i remember it was called Detective Conan. The story it’s about a teen who admire Sherlock Holmes and he like to solves mysteries. One day two unknow men drug the protagonist and then he became a child. The now-kid change his name to Conan with the purpose of start investigating the people  who did this to him. In de middle of the journey searching a way to come back to his old body, he meet a lot of people and solves mysteries that anyone could solve before. It’s a pretty fun anime, full of mysteries and humor.

Another TV show that i discovered  when i was like eight years old and i deeply love, like LOVE LOVE (i’m obssesed with it) it is Fullmetal Alchemist. This anime it`s my favourite untill now, in my mind it’s the best creation that ever touch TV and internet… and the complete world. Some people think that this series are just for children because of the condition of animated, but behind all that we can discovered a really deep  plot. This it’s the case of Fullmetal, an anime that tell us the story of two brothers that start a journey to recover what they once lost, all this happend in a world where alchemy it’s the center of power relations and knowledge. I have seen Fullmetal more than seven times, i LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE IT <3

The TV shows that we saw in our childhood remind us the kid full of dreams and fantasy  that we were, i think it is really importante never forget that.

Green Life

Actually global warming it is a huge problem for the environment and it would have serious consequences to the future of the planet and all the organism that live here. So I want to do I review of some habits that can make a change in society about the green topic.

First of all we have to declare education like the first and most important process where we learn about the world and it’s the perfect scenery to treat the global warming and educate the population about take care of our planet.

By the hand of education come every day habits like take care of water, don’t spend more light than necessary, etc. I big problem with contamination (important factor in global warming) it’s the enormous number of cars that are circulating in cities, even in the small ones. When the distances are so long it’s understandable that people use motorized vehicles, but with a good quality of public transport we can reduce the contamination while we stop using so much cars.

      

Personally I can’t say that I’m the greenest person on earth, that is a lie. Generally I try to take care of our resources, but I have to say that I have never taken recycling like a style of life. My carbon footprint could be huge, sadly.

Based on what I said before, I have realized that today’s society absorbs you in a way that make very difficult to notice de damage that we are doing to our planet, we live fast and always connected, we are totally dependent of energy. May be we can practices green ideals every day, but if we don’t change the way society see and affront this problem, if we don’t act like an ALL, we are going to die ONE by ONE without change anything.

When we were little our imagination was pretty creative and vivid, because of that we needed just the right kind of stimulation to create a wonderful world full adventures and magic or the opposite… the scariest place, situation or monster ever existed. And I have to say that my imagination played me really bad jokes, until now.

About my fears in my childhood, I have never… or better said, I don’t remember any monster or specifically character that I used to hate because of the terror it made me feel. But surely I would have to put in this category of scary characters to all the ones who appear in terror movies. I have never liked this kind of film, and I just needed one look to the screen to stop sleeping of fear.  

About the other things, not persons, that cause me terror I must put on the number one of the list the DARKNESS.  

Since I remember I have an intense fear to the darkness, in fact I’m still struggling with it. Until now I go a lot to the bathroom at night, and every time I get up, especially when I was little, the first thing I do it’s turn up the light of the room, and then I repeat this all the way to the bathroom. Years ago I use to do this kind of ritual but running, and I always had to look behind the door before closed it. Now I have I little more  dignity than before.

We all had scary things that made our life more complicated but at the same time more exciting. Our little minds were easily played by our innocence, however may be that was better. Now the things that cause us fear are every time more concrete and real, we can’t  blame imagination when we feel scared anymore. May be it`s better to still believe in monsters.
